A child and young woman are dead and 13 others injured after a lone gunman walked along Toronto’s busy Danforth Avenue on Sunday night, randomly shooting pedestrians before opening fire on crowded restaurants, this according to a story on Canada’s theglobeandmail.com.
The shooter who is 29-year-old and from Toronto was found dead after an exchange of gunfire with police.
Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders reportedly announced Monday afternoon that the two victims were an 18-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl.
No motive has yet been established for the shooting of the two and witnesses are being asked to come forward so some light can be shed on the incident which has left many in shock.
“It’s way too early to rule out anything, that would not be serving justice well” Chief Saunders was quoted as saying.
The chief also said he would be looking into the background of the individual.
