Veteran dancehall deejay Capleton has been freed of rape charge.
The case was dismissed on Wednesday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
The deejay’s manager Claudette Kemp confirmed the reports saying, “I don’t know how to contain my joy; Capleton has been freed, God is good.”
She also quoted as saying the police attempted to submit a new statement and change the original statement given by the girl in the matter.
“So this decision is an affirmation of truth and rights. Capleton has always maintained his innocence and his name has been cleared in this matter,” Kemp reportedly said.
Capleton was accused of forcibly having sex with a female hairdresser last year at a New Kingston hotel.
