Caribbean Maritime student drowns in Florida

Caribbean Maritime University student 21-year-old Terril Crossfield died in Florida while rescuing a lady in distress.

According to information gleaned by The Caribbean Globe, the student drowned after saving a woman at Vortex Springs last Wednesday.

Since news of his death broke, his social media page has been flooded with tributes, with some hailing him for the hero that he was.

Crossfield was residing in Pensacola, Florida at the time of his death.

A release issued by the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office in Florida said deputies responded to the drowning at the Vortex Springs venue on Wednesday at around 1:30 p.m.

Crossfield reportedly responded to a female swimmer who seemed to be having difficulty in the water.

After passing her to safety he apparently started experiencing difficulty himself and went under.

A diver pulled him from underwater and attempts to resuscitate him failed.
