Corruption charges looming over current and former Parliamentarians

Corruption charges are looming over the heads of current and former Parliamentarians who have been accused of flouting Jamaica’s anti-corruption laws, this according to a special Sunday, Gleaner report.

The Integrity Commission, Jamaica’s corruption watchdog agency, reportedly revealed that the five – two current and three former parliamentarians – were referred to its prosecutorial arm in the last fiscal year.

The accused names have not been made public with the country being in the dark regarding details on when the cases were referred to the commission’s corruption prosecution division and whether steps have been taken to bring them before the court.
