Cuba re-close some schools after one week of classes

After only one week of classes, some schools in Cuba had to be closed as there was a small outbreak of COVID-19.

The outbreak prompted the authorities to re-close schools in the central Cuban province.

Commenting on the closure, Bárbara Rodríguez, Ciego de Avila schools director, said 75 of the province’s 90 schools would return to televised teaching as of today. Students had returned to classrooms only on September 1 after a six-month break.
