daCosta Cup champions Clarendon College snatches another crown

On the day when former outstanding couch of Clarendon College, the late Winston Chung-Fah was laid to rest, the footballers gave him a fitting home going!

The ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup champions Clarendon College (CC) defeated the Manning Cup champions Kingston College (KC), by 1-0 to lift the Oliver Shields trophy at the National Stadium Saturday night.

Coach Lenworth Hype steering the team to victory also accomplished the enviable fete of lifting a title for the school as a player in 1977 and now their coach on Saturday.

Ironically Hyde was also the former coach of Kingston College, before he was sacked in 2014.

The winning goal was scored by Andre Nicholson in the 87th minute of the game breaking the deadlock which seemed headed to a penalty shootout.
