Hours after 20 killed in Texas, another mass shooting takes place in Ohio

Just hours after a gunman walked into a Texas Walmart killing 20 people and injuring many others, another mass killing takes place in Ohio leaving nine dead.

According to a report in the New York Times in addition to nine being killed, 26 others were shot and injured in the incident which took place in Dayton, Ohio, after gunman in body armor opened fire early Sunday morning.

The suspected shooter opened fire in the Oregon District, a popular nightlife area, at around 1 .a.m., police said. Authorities have not disclosed his name.

The gunman wore body armor and a mask over his face while firing a .223-caliber rifle, Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley said at a press conference Sunday morning. He was shot and killed by police.
