Jamaica Government looking to make schools more secure

Minister with responsibility for Education, Youth and Information, Karl Samuda, says the Government is looking to provide the requisite resources to bolster security arrangements at schools in order to safeguard students, teachers and other stakeholder users.

Samuda visited the school on Wednesday to extend condolences in the aftermath of the killing of Grade 11 Coordinator, Carl Samuels on January 25.

He told students and staff he would be looking into the budget to see to what extent provision can be made for full-time security… both personnel and equipment.
