Measures to fight COVID-19 will be around for another year says Jamaica PM

Andrew Holness, Prime minister of Jamaica says the country should prepare itself for close to another year of measures, before it is safe to say that there is a vaccination for COVID-19.

During a virtual press conference on Monday (August 24), Holness said after the vaccine is developed, there will be other issues surrounding its distribution and who should receive it as well as the legal and constitutional issues that have to be resolved around it.

Holness said even if a vaccine is developed and approved next year to fight the pandemic, the process of having the vaccine produced then shipped here, then distributed, could be many months after the approval.
