Mexico with at last count 46,204 COVID-19 related deaths, has now moved in third place where the casualties of the virus is concerned.
The US leads with over 155,000 deaths with Brazil in second place with over 90,000 deaths.
Mexico now surpasses the United Kingdom which previously was in the third spot.
In Mexico City, the capital, hundreds of thousands of factory workers returned to their jobs in mid-June. Some non-essential businesses were then allowed to reopen at the start of July in the city, the epicentre of the country’s epidemic.
