Health officials in the Bahamas confirmed a record 133 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 1,252.
Andros, the largest of the Bahamian islands recorded its first case of the virus, according to health officials.
News out of that island also is that the opposition leader Phillip Davis has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in hospital.
Davis confirmed his positive testing in a voice note Sunday morning. In the voice note he informed that in the last six weeks more than 1,000 Bahamians learnt that they tested positive for the virus.
