Following a 4-1 defeat on Tuesday, Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz were eliminated from their first-ever Women’s World Cup without a point.
Despite the Girlz’ loss, they are still being praised for the valiant effort they put up, earning their first World Cup goal when Havana Solaun scored in the 49th.
Jamaica enjoyed the recognition of being the first Caribbean nation to make the World Cup, but, they however did not win any of the three matches played. Their first match was against Brazil which they lost 3 -0, a few days later they played Italy receiving a 5-0 thrashing.
On Tuesday, despite their resolve to put up a better showing they were outplayed by the Australians girls.
For all their loss the reggae Girlz inspirational story has won them many fans in France.
Dr Peter Phillips, leader of the opposition hailed the Girlz saying they representedthe country well with courage and determination.
