Significant increase of dengue recorded in St Vincent

The Caribbean island of St Vincent is facing a possible dengue fever outbreak.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment in a statement said there has been an above normal increase in dengue cases and that it was taking all necessary steps to prevent a severe outbreak of dengue fever in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The health ministry continued that the increase is not typical for the period in urging Vincentians to take the requisite precautions to prevent the further spread of the illness.
