Chivea is the Massa for the ladies this summer

Linstead Jamaica-born and Philadelphia-based Dancehall artiste, Chivea Brown, is reveling in the success of his latest single called Massa. The track was officially released last month and has already started to trend in the Jamaican Dancehall space.

The Term Massa usually means Master, or Boss and originally is a reference in Jamaica to the slave masters on plantations during slavery.  Nowadays the vernacular is mostly used in rural Jamaica like in Linstead St Catherine where Chivea was born.

I always try to connect with my Jamaican people when recording I’m really a country boy at heart. Making a song to appeal to that dancing and sexy side of my fans is what makes this track even more fun,’ Chivea explained.

The Massa single was produced by Chivea and Rush riddim out of Philadelphia and co-produced by Pinky Pinks out of Jamaica. The song already is getting a lot of rotation in the streets with the team.

The response has been overwhelming, I’ve seen so many videos posted of women dancing to the song all over the world and just enjoying the energy of the track, we have started campaigning the track in Jamaica as well since entertainment there is open somewhat,” Chivea added.

Chivea intends to continue giving energy to the track and is looking at adding visuals soon. The artiste is also busy working on more material to be released this month.
