Dancehall artistes QQ and his younger brother IQ have teamed up once again for a new track titled Festive. For QQ, who is celebrating 20 years in the music industry, keeping the creative energy within the family is a point of pride.
“Collaborating with him is always fun and unique. Watching his growth is a proud moment for me. Doing music videos is always a blast because we throw ourselves into the work, and it’s great seeing the girls enjoying themselves,” QQ shared.
Festive, along with its official music video, dropped on September 20. The track was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Raj-P.
QQ, born Kareem Dawkins, is known for hits like One Drop, Rum Ram, and Stookie. He explained that the collaboration with IQ came together naturally.
“The song is all about having fun. It’s a girl telling you what she wants, and as the fun guy I am, I’m like, ‘Alright, that’s what you want, that sounds festive!’ I was in the studio with my brother, and he just ran with the idea,” QQ said.
IQ, who has been splitting his time between Jamaica and the UK, shared that the project is another exciting release for their fans.
“I don’t have any specific expectations for the song. I just love giving great music to my fans and supporters,” IQ said.
Like his older brother, IQ, born Cairo Dawkins, said he enjoyed working together on the track.
“It’s always fun making music with my brother. We just have this crazy connection when it comes to creating,” IQ added.
IQ is internationally known for his single Bun Fi Bun featuring Stefflon Don.
