In yesterday’s English Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium, Demarai Gray’s stunning equaliser held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw in a feisty match.
Erling Haaland’s opener for City on 24 minutes was cancelled out by the 26-year-old winger’s goal on 64 minutes.
Gray curled a right-footed shot from the left side of the box into the top right corner from a little inside the area, equalising the score after Rodri gave the ball away.
Despite city throwing everything they could at the visitors during 11 minutes of stoppage time, Everton held firm.
City, who are in second place, slipped to seven points behind leaders Arsenal after they won the late match 4-2 at Brighton & Hove Albion.
21-year-old striker Ellis Simms, who is also eligible to play for Jamaica, has been recalled from his season-long loan with Championship outfit Sunderland by Everton. He did not feature in the match on Saturday.
Simms, who joined from the Toffees in the summer, went on to score seven goals in 17 appearances. He rejoins Everton in good form having scored four goals in his past six appearances, including the opener in a 4-1 win against Wigan Athletic on Thursday.
