According to the organisation that oversees the sport, Jamaica came in first place among the nations for women’s track in 2022.
The USA came in a close second with 74 points, followed by Ethiopia in third place with 60 points in the World Athletics rankings, which were based on data from the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The Jamaican women finished top with 75 points.
The top 10 women’s teams were comprised of Great Britain (39 points), Kenya (39 points), the Netherlands (20 points), Nigeria (13 points), Kazakhstan (12 points), the Bahamas (10 points), and the Dominican Republic (10 points).
Jamaica received 10 medals overall—two gold, seven silver, and one bronze—and placed third. The majority of the medals were won by women, with the men only winning a silver medal in the 4×400-meter relay.
