Naomi Osaka announces pregnancy, plans tennis return in 2024

The tennis pro revealed on Wednesday that Naomi Osaka is expecting a child and that she intends to compete once more in 2024.

The former world number one shared an ultrasound image as part of what she referred to as “a little life update for 2023” on social media.

“I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘that’s my mom,'” Osaka wrote.

Osaka withdrew from the Australian Open, which gets underway on Sunday, after not participating in a competitive match since September. Along with two US Open titles, she has won that competition twice.
