After leaving the group for a “family situation,” England manager Gareth Southgate acknowledged Raheem Sterling’s World Cup status is uncertain. The 27-year-old missed Sunday’s last-16 encounter against Senegal.
“He will go and deal with that matter and we will have to take it from there,” Southgate told ITV.
“I had quite a bit of time with him this morning but I have had to pass that on to other people to help him with that.”
Chelsea’s striker began and scored in England’s 6-2 triumph over Iran in their first group game before playing in the 0-0 draw with the United States.
England’s 3-0 triumph against Wales saw Southgate deploy Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden alongside Harry Kane.
Sterling started all seven Euro 2020 matches for England.
