‘Whisper’ Richards signs pre-contract with Chelsea FC

Dujaun “Whisper” Richards, a football sensation from Jamaica, has signed a pre-contract with Chelsea FC, one of the best clubs in the English Premier League (EPL).

Craig Butler, the founder of Phoenix Academy, announced it on Instagram.

“History has been made. The Phoenix All Stars Football Academy is proud to announce that Dujuan “Whisper” Richards, who has been with us since 12-years-old, has put pen to paper and signed his pre-contract with Chelsea FC in England and will be plying his trade in the Premier League,” Butler posted.

Richards, who has been a Phoenix player since he was 12 years old, just completed a two-week trial with Newcastle United of the English Premier League. He will aim to advance his EPL career during this time.

The 17-year-old star had an outstanding season for Kingston College during the recently finished schoolboy season, scoring over 30 goals and dishing out 19 assists.

The Reggae Boyz are scheduled to play Trinidad and Tobago in two international friendlies on March 11 and 14, respectively, at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in St. James and the National Stadium in Kingston. He recently received his first call-up for the senior men’s national team.

Whisper follows Leon Bailey, a former standout of the Phoenix Academy who is today an EPL player for Aston Villa.
