Caribbean American legislators outraged over police killing of unarmed black man

Intense fury was shown by Caribbean American lawmakers on Friday over the police killing of an unarmed black man in Memphis, Tennessee, earlier this month.

Tyre Nichols, 29, was punched and kicked by police on Saturday, January 7, according to video from body cameras and surveillance that Memphis Police released late on Friday. Nichols passed away three days later in the hospital.

Five black Memphis Police Department officers have been accused of second-degree murder, aggravated assault and kidnapping, official misconduct, and oppression by the Shelby County District Attorney in Tennessee.
