Jamaican pastor shot near home, dies

A preacher who was shot in a cowardly mid-afternoon attack on Monday in Portmore, St. Catherine, has passed away from his injuries.

Lynval Lewis, a pastor at the Spanish Town Tabernacle and Greater Portmore Tabernacle, has been named as the deceased.

Lewis was reportedly targeted by a shooter who fired shots at him while he was driving out from his home in Greater Portmore. The perpetrator then ran away from the area.

Lewis was taken urgently to the hospital, where he passed away while receiving care.
