Major drug bust at Norman Manley Airport

Following the launch of a manhunt, a suspect was detained in the Kingston 6 neighbourhood in connection with the discovery of drugs with an estimated street value of USD 600,000.

He was detained on the basis of a reasonable suspicion that he had violated the dangerous drug act, but his identification is being withheld until additional inquiries.

Twelve pounds of cocaine were allegedly found at Kingston’s Norman Manley International Airport on Monday, according to the police.

During routine security inspections, the illegal items were discovered in a luggage headed for the United States of America.
