Mutabaruka, a Rastafarian singer, educator, and radio host, has contributed to the continuing discussion regarding the fate of Jamaica’s traditional music. He has voiced his displeasure with the current state of dancehall and has urged musicians to get back to their positive beginnings. On the other hand, when he hosted the Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise, he seemed to take a completely relaxed approach.
“Support local musicians, local music, and also support our local vendors,” he told cruisers on deck for the live concert.
