American sprinter Gabby Thomas credits Jamaican roots for her speed

American sprinter Gabby Thomas, the 200m national champion, recently credited her Jamaican roots for her incredible speed.

During a press conference ahead of the Monaco leg of the Wanda Diamond League, Thomas expressed her gratitude for the support she receives from Jamaicans. With her father being Jamaican, she proudly acknowledged that her fast roots come from her Jamaican heritage.

Thomas recorded a world-leading time of 21.60 seconds in the 200m at the US trials, and she now looks forward to bringing her strong form to the upcoming World Championships in Budapest. Her motivation lies in making her family proud, as she comes from a track-loving background, aiming to honor her grandfather and father through her success on the track.
